Akaki Tsereteli State University was founded in Tbilisi in 1930 but later relocated to Kutaisi. It is a public higher education institution with 9 faculties in various areas of instruction. The annual tuition fee for a 6-year medical course in English is affordable - € 6000 .
The university doesn’t require any entrance exams. To apply here, you need a secondary school leaving certificate and good command of English.
The university offers a dormitory near the campus and at a reasonable price with a total capacity of 80 students. You can rent a bed in a double or triple room with a private bathroom. The rent per month for a triple room is around €170 per person and for a double room is €230.
Living on your own in Kutaisi is affordable and offers many options. A one-bedroom apartment in the city centre is around €130 per month. If you prefer to live with friends or roommates, a 3-bedroom apartment is at the price of around €200. Other expenses like utilities and food will cost you around an additional €200 monthly.
The university is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools. It is a member of the World Health Organisation, IAUP, AMEE and AMSE. After receiving your diploma, you will be allowed to practise everywhere in Europe and other countries around the globe.
The Autumn Term here starts in mid-September and lasts until February.
The Spring semester starts in March and finishes in mid-July.
Both terms are followed by examination periods.
