About Charles University First Faculty of Medicine

Charles University was established in 1348. Nowadays, the university has 17 faculties in 3 cities around the Czech Republic. The First Faculty of Medicine is located in the capital  - Prague. It offers Medicine and dentistry courses, both entirely taught in English.

Prague is the largest and most populated city in the country. It is home to many Czech Universities. It has more than 1.3 million inhabitants. The city is as essential for the Czech Republic as it is for Europe - it is the political, cultural, and economic centre of the central part of the continent.

The M.D. course lasts 6 years and consists of theoretical and practical training. It includes training in simulators, bedside teaching, and summer clerkships. In the last year, you will be taking part in clinical rotations. You don’t have to worry if you can’t find a teaching hospital for your summer clerkships. The university is in cooperation with many hospitals around Prague that will welcome you anytime.

The dentistry curriculum is nothing different from any other European University. During the first years, you will learn the basics of medicine. Later on, in higher courses, you will start practising with real patients with dental problems under the supervision of a teacher.

The university doesn’t offer an Advanced M.D. and doesn’t accept students transfer.

Charles University First Faculty of Medicine adress is Kateřinská 1660/32, 121 08 Nové Město, Czech Republic.
