About the University of Rzeszow Medicine Programme in English

The University of Rzeszów offers a 6-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme in English, designed for international students who wish to pursue a career in medicine. The programme follows European medical education standards and is structured into 3 main stages:

1. Online prep course (before Year 1)

Before beginning your 1st official semester, all students accepted into the 6-year MD English Programme are enrolled in an online pre-study course. This programme is designed to give students a chance to revise foundational knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics from a medical perspective. It also serves as an introduction to medical terminology and concepts to prepare students for the medical curriculum.

The course is delivered through an e-learning platform, and students are expected to engage regularly, complete assignments, and follow the tutors' instructions. The e-learning course will be available a few weeks before the start of the academic year, and students will be given access to online textbooks.

2. Preclinical stage (years 1-3)

Following the pre-study courses, the programme progresses into the Preclinical stage, where students learn about the core medical subjects while introducing clinical cases and more advanced terminology. This stage focuses on building a solid theoretical foundation necessary for understanding human health and disease processes, followed by practical training through laboratory work and clinical skills development in simulated environments under supervision.

3. Clinical stage and internship (years 4-6)

The Clinical Stage, as the name suggests, emphasises hands-on experience and the application of medical knowledge. Students participate in clinical rotations across various specialities, including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Psychiatry, and Family Medicine.
